Holly Lollar

Holly Shepherd Lollar, APR, is Founder and President of The Lollar Group, a full-service communications company. 

Prior to beginning her own company, she was Public Relations Account Director at o2ideas for three years. While at o2ideas, she succeeded in gaining international press coverage for clients. Prior to joining o2ideas, she was Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing for Kid One Transport, a state-wide non-profit organization for three and a half years.

In 2002, Holly was Press Secretary for an Alabama statewide political campaign. Her prior experience in the non-profit sector includes her position as Community Relations Manager for the Alabama Policy Institute. Lollar graduated with a degree in Public Relations and Speech Communication from the University of Alabama, where she received the 2001 Eddy Fulk’s Award in Recognition of Outstanding Community Service.

Lollar has also worked for Senator Richard Shelby’s Press Department; Concerned Women for America’s Media Department and served as an assistant to Vice President, Ray Cole of Van Scoyoc Associates, Inc., all in Washington, D.C.

Lollar is a sustainer of the Junior League of Birmingham where she served for over 10 years and served on the American Advertising Federation- Birmingham’s Board for six years. She is Past-President of the Junior Board of Glenwood, Inc. She is a former board member of the Public Relations Society of America, Alabama Chapter and served on the Public Relations Council of Alabama-Birmingham’s Board. 

She serves on the board of the University of Alabama’s Capstone Agency and on the board of Sight Savers America.

Lollar also previously served on the Junior Board of Magic Moments, the Southeastern Diabetes Education Services’ Board, the Young Professionals of Birmingham’s Board, the Associate Board of the Alabama Policy Institute and on the Young Supporters Board of UAB’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.

She was appointed by Governor Bob Riley to the Alabama Women’s Commission as a Representative of the State At Large in 2003 as well as to the Black Belt Action Commission. She was also appointed to the Alabama State Service Commission where she still serves. 

She frequently speaks to faculty, alumni and students at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa), Samford University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham on trends in the fields of public relations and corporate communications. Lollar is a past recipient of both the PEAK Award for Ad Woman of the Year and Public Relations Director of the Year given by the American Advertising Federation- Birmingham.

In 2009, Lollar won the PEAK Award for Newcomer of the Year in recognition of her new company, given by the American Advertising Federation- Birmingham.

Lollar received the distinguished honor of being named as one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” in March of 2011. She is a member of the 2011-2012 class of Leadership Vestavia Hills and is a graduate of the Junior League of Birmingham’s Leadership Institute. Lollar was named to Yellowhammer News’ Power & Influence 50 list of the most powerful and influential players in Alabama politics and business in 2017.

Amy Kerper

Amy Kerper is the Communications Coordinator for The Lollar Group.

Amy supports The Lollar Group team in the agency’s goal to promote a positive public image for our clients. She ensures a smooth running of daily tasks and assists in implementing client communication strategies and tactics. She also manages social media efforts for several clients and is fluent in Spanish.

Amy graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts and a minor in sociology. She was a member of multiple honor societies and worked on the Student Government Association at the University of Alabama. She served on the Standards Board and was Recording Secretary for the Alpha Upsilon chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. She volunteers her time with the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation, a cause that is very close to her heart.

Abigail Jackson

Abigail Jackson serves as the Account Manager at The Lollar Group.

Originally from the Decatur/North Alabama area, Abigail currently lives in Birmingham after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Samford University. Abigail received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications (JMC) with a double concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. She serves as an Account Manager at The Lollar Group.

Prior to The Lollar Group, Abigail worked at RAM, an international mission organization, and she now serves as the youngest board member in the organization's history. In 2021, she was appointed as chair of the Publicity Committee for the organization.

In 2019 Abigail helped start a publishing company, Soncoast Publishing, and now serves as a founding board member and as the Executive Director of Advertising and Design.

During her time at Samford, Abigail received the Dean's Scholarship, Leadership Scholarship, and various other scholarships. Abigail was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Gamma Sigma Alpha Honor Society, and the Order of Omega Honor Society. In addition, Abigail served as the Public Relations Chair of the SGA Senate, Secretary of Samford University's Chapter of American Advertising Federation, a presenter at the AAF convention, Social Chair for her sorority and StepSing director for three years.

 
 

Scarlet Stearns

Scarlet Stearns is The Lollar Group’s Spring intern.

Scarlet Stearns is a junior Communications Studies major at Samford University. She serves as an ambassador for Samford’s Communications Department. Scarlet has been a Connections Leader for the past two years which supports orientation for new Samford University students. In 2021, Stearns had the opportunity of being a Coordinator, where she oversaw all planning and execution for student recruitment events. She is an active leader in her church’s college ministry and hosts a “small group” for high school girls at a local children's home.
